"The Day I Met Bjork"

last night was one of the best times i've had in a while. we got together for a friends birthday & with the help of some connections, we borrowed a private exhibition/gallery space where we celebrated while being surrounded by photos of Bjork.

the exhibit on display, "The Day I Met Bjork", features some never-before-seen photos of Bjork shot by Spike Jonze back in 1995. like the title implies, the photos were taken on the day they first met in person. until now, the photos were kept in storage.

it's interesting when something is new & old at the same time. when i see these photos from almost 30 years ago, i see one of the most important artists of our generation. but when these photos were originally taken in 1995, it was only the beginning of their career. so there's this exciting energy, like... you don't even know what's coming.

before the bday friend arrived we setup the space to surprise her. my partner created this table setting with tomatoes, mushrooms & pearls. magical forest things. i created a playlist of feel-good bops. the space had big windows that spanned across the outside wall with a balcony overlooking the street. we had cake too of course. it was perfect.

afterwards, i was feeling thankful to have a group of friends in LA. probably the most challenging part of moving is leaving friends behind & then making new ones. so i'm very lucky for that.
now, i've got a busy work week ahead but i'm good. hopeful. optimistic. heart maxed out.
